Black Hole Evolution
A downloadable game
BLACK HOLE EVOLUTION
START SMALL. COLLAPSE. CONSUME. EVOLVE.
Begin as a star. Become a black hole.
End with an entire galaxy built around you.
THE UNIVERSE IS YOUR PROGRESSION TREE.
Black Hole Evolution is a 3D physics-based cosmic sandbox about one thing:
growing from something insignificant into something astronomical.
Manipulate celestial bodies. Bend their trajectories with gravity. Capture objects into orbit. Consume matter. Survive stellar collapse. Encounter other black holes. Build stellar populations.
And eventually, stop being an object inside the universe...
and become the thing shaping it.
โญ IT STARTS WITH A STAR.
At first, you're nothing extraordinary.
A star surrounded by a universe that feels enormous.
Nearby planets, stars and systems dwarf your influence. You can manipulate celestial bodies, alter trajectories and use gravity to pull the environment into increasingly chaotic interactions.
Gain mass and progress through stellar evolution.
Grow hotter. Grow larger. Grow unstable.
Until eventually...
gravity wins.
โซ THEN YOU COLLAPSE.
Becoming a black hole doesn't just unlock another upgrade.
It changes how you interact with the universe.
Your gravitational influence grows. Objects can be captured into orbit, accelerated around you, slingshotted back into space or swallowed entirely.
Other black holes introduce an entirely different problem.
Depending on mass, velocity and trajectory, an encounter can become:
- A high-speed flyby
- A violent gravitational slingshot
- A temporary orbital encounter
- A binary black-hole system
- An inspiral
- Or a full black-hole merger
Keep growing and objects that once seemed enormous begin to look increasingly insignificant.
The universe hasn't gotten smaller.
You got bigger.
๐ A BLACK HOLE ISN'T THE END.
Eventually, simply consuming everything stops being the goal.
A sufficiently massive black hole can become the nucleus of something much larger.
Capture and stabilize stellar populations around yourself and begin assembling a galaxy.
- ๐ซ Build a coherent rotating galactic disk
- โจ Develop a dense central stellar bulge
- ๐ญ Establish an extended stellar halo
- โญ Capture and organize stellar populations
- โ๏ธ Accumulate cosmic material around your developing structure
- โซ Continue growing the monster sitting at its center
What begins as scattered material slowly becomes organized structure.
Structure becomes a galactic nucleus.
The nucleus grows.
And eventually, you're looking at your own galaxy.
๐ SCALE IS THE PROGRESSION.
Black Hole Evolution isn't supposed to feel like you're simply watching a number increase.
Your relationship with the world changes as you grow.
Something that once looked impossibly large can eventually become something you can move.
Something that once looked impossibly distant can eventually fall under your gravitational influence.
Something that once threatened you can eventually become food.
The same universe that surrounds a tiny star becomes a completely different playground when viewed from the perspective of a supermassive black hole.

STAR โ STELLAR GIANT โ BLACK HOLE โ GALACTIC NUCLEUS โ GALAXY
And reaching the end doesn't mean you have to stop growing.
๐ LEAVE SOMETHING BEHIND.
Forming a galaxy completes the main cosmic journey, but it doesn't have to end your universe.
Continue growing your galaxy for as long as you want...
or prestige.
Travel elsewhere and begin again as an ordinary star while the galaxy you created remains behind as part of your persistent cosmic history.
Do it again, and another galaxy joins it.
Over time, your previous journeys become part of the universe itself.
๐ง CURRENTLY IN DEVELOPMENT
Current public build: v0.5.3
Black Hole Evolution is an experimental project in active development. Systems, visuals, progression and balance will continue changing as the game grows.
You may encounter bugs, unfinished mechanics, questionable cosmic behavior, or situations where the simulation decides that the laws of physics were merely suggestions.
Feedback and bug reports are extremely welcome.
HOW FAR CAN YOU GROW?
Start with a star.
Build a galaxy.
Then do it again.
